Meet Sadaf Alam, DDS

Dr. Alam brings over two decades of experience to Urban Smiles Dental, a women-owned practice built on trust, precision, and personalized care. She is a mom and understands how important it is for families to feel comfortable and cared for. Her approach is calm and attentive. Over the years, she has built lasting relationships across the Triangle by doing what she believes is right for each patient and taking the time to do it well.

Education & Background

Dr. Alam earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Adams School of Dentistry and completed a hospital residency focused on complex care, including head and neck surgery, trauma, orthodontics and pediatric dentistry. She has continued to expand her expertise through advanced training in implantology, cosmetic dentistry, sleep-related treatments, and proficiency with Invisalign®. She remains actively involved in continuing education through organizations like Spear Education, the Seattle Study Club, and Molis Coaching.

Advanced Care & Clinical Focus

With extensive training across multiple disciplines, Dr. Alam is able to provide a wide range of care in one place, including implants, Invisalign, tooth extractions, cosmetic dentistry, root canals and more complex procedures that often require outside referrals. Her approach blends function and aesthetics, allowing patients to not only restore their oral health, but feel confident in their smiles as well.

Outside the Office

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Alam enjoys creative pursuits like pressing flowers, making custom cards for special occasions, gardening, reading, and traveling. She has recently taken to playing Mahjong with her friends. She is also a proud parent of two children and values the balance between her professional life and the meaningful moments she spends with family.
